Mini Swap Day: Winter Holiday Decor | December 8

  • Milano Center 201 West Foster Street Melrose, MA, 02176 United States (map)

We're bringing back the Mini-Swap Holiday Decor edition! This event has some special guidelines because we are indoors with space limitations. We'll be swapping only winter holiday decor items in the categories listed.

Swap Day is a community reuse event where everything is free. People can drop off items and/or take items. You don't have to bring something to take something, and vice versa. Think of it as a free tag sale, or in-person version of Buy Nothing / Everything is Free Melrose.

This winter holiday version will focus on SPECIFIC ITEMS ONLY. All winter holidays welcome! Christmas, Hanukkah, Winter Solstice, Kwanzaa, Festivus, etc. Accepted item categories are:

  • Tabletop pieces and sets (serving dishes, dinnerware, mugs, glasses, linens)

  • Christmas tree décor (ornaments, toppers, stands, skirts, lights)

  • Gift wrap, bags, tissue, bows, ribbons, tags, and cards

  • Other indoor winter holiday décor and knickknacks

  • 💡Working String lights ONLY

Schedule: The event runs 11 am - 2 pm. Drop-offs accepted only until 1 pm.

Location: Indoors at Milano Center, 201 W Foster Street, Melrose, MA.

Due to space limitations and the winter holiday theme, swappable items will be limited both in type and volume. Only indoor winter holiday decor accepted. No outdoor decorations or large items due to the limited size of our indoor space, and our volunteer staff. Limit total weight of your contributions to max 20 lbs, and a total volume carryable by one person.

Our goal is a zero-waste event. At the end of the event, volunteers take extra items to Savers and various non-profits to prevent as much as possible from going into the trash.

This holiday decor edition of (mini) Swap Day is 100% volunteer-organized and managed by Zero Waste Melrose and Lend and Mend . If you want to volunteer or support the event in any capacity, please email zerowastemelrose@gmail.com .
